Box Jelly
by: Anna

The box jellies, or sea wasps, are the most poisonous animals in the world, containing venom within nematocysts, microscopic "spears" found within the jellies. Those of the genus 'chironex' are responsible for the most deaths, but the jelly carukia barnesi, only a centimeter in length, has been accounted for deaths as well as Irukandji system always, which can kill in a number of ways, ranging from dehydration, to cardiac arrest, to suicide as a result of severe anxiety that the sting brings on. Once venom laced nematocysts enter the bloodstream, the victim usually dies.
