For example, for a white fox:
- evolutionary adaptation or adaptation to environment
- white fur blends in with the snow, making it difficult to be prey upon
- this helps the fox survive and reproduce
- this is the result of selective survival of foxes with white fur when the environment changed
- foxes with coloured fur became more susceptible to predators and died off
