Large Vacuoles Inside Lysosomes
by: Anonymous

Lysosomal storage diseases are diseases in which some lysosomal enzymes are inexistent or deficient. There are several different genetic diseases that are lysosomal storage diseases.

Since those lysosomes can't correctly do their job of breaking substances to clean the cell from wastes, it is possible to see inside the lysosomes, under electronic microscopy, relatively large vacuoles containing accumulated waste materials.
