Difference is obvious. Non living things cannot replicate. Therefore living things include DNA code. That's one of the questions about evolutionary theory if correct because the very first species on the earth had to replicate themself to call them living things. Replication is complicated molecular machinery so there is serious question what gave rise to such a complex machinery in prebiotic enviroment.
